In 2024, the state government of Bihar plans to conduct the Bihar Eligibility Test (BET).
The eligibility test for assistant professor appointments is conducted at the state level.

In order to choose assistant professors, the state education department plans to implement the Bihar Eligibility Test (BET), a state-level eligibility examination. BET’s Past and Present Trends
The last BET was held in 2002. The new exam adheres to the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) ruling, which stipulates that NET, SET, and SLET are the minimal requirements for assistant professor jobs and that a PhD is optional. having a meeting with the minister of education
Vice-chairman of the Bihar State Higher Education Council (BSHEC), Kameshwar Jha, met with education minister Sunil Kumar to talk about issues related to higher education, including the execution of the state-level eligibility test.
Syllabus will be prepared on the basis of UGC NET Syllabus (BET Syllabus)
After receiving the order from the Ministry of Education, now the officials have started preparing for it.
BET exam will also be on the lines of UGC NET and the syllabus will also be like UGC NET. Also, admission in pre-PhD course will also be done through this, while for BET exam, subjects related to Bihar will be included in the syllabus as much as possible. The education department is taking the help of experts for this. The pattern of the exam will be based on UGC NET.
